Pin Individual Folders and Other useful Shortcuts to Taskbar in Windows7

When you drag-n-drop a folder to windows7 taskbar, windows will show a tool-tip "Pin to windows Explorer". Once it is pinned to to Windows Explorer, you cannot open the pinned folder directly. The only way to open is to show jump list and then click on the pinned folder. For example if you pin 'My Documents' folder, you should right-click on the explorer shortcut and then click on 'My Documents' to open it.
It is possible to pin desired folders to taskbar separately. We can also pin various useful shortcuts like "My computer", "Recycle bin", "Control panel", "Downloads Folder" etc. also. The following video will show you how to this.

Use any of the following shell commands in the "create Shortcut" window to build desired shortcut.

  • explorer shell:MyComputerFolder
  • explorer shell:Administrative Tools
  • explorer shell:RecycleBinFolder
  • explorer shell:ControlPanelFolder
  • explorer shell:ChangeRemoveProgramsFolder
  • explorer shell:ConnectionsFolder
  • explorer shell:NetworkPlacesFolder
  • explorer shell:My Documents
  • explorer shell:My Music
  • explorer shell:Downloads
  • explorer shell:Favorites
  • explorer shell:Games
